1991-1992 Club History/Activites

Total membership at the beginning of this Rotary year:  60.  Adopted Georgia Avenue Elementary School as primary service project and inducted Principal Dorothy Walker as first honorary club member.  Began work to create an Interact Club.  Family picnic held at Duke Schaeffer’s.   Started a weekly newsletter.  Established the club’s first charitable foundation.  Sponsored a group at the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference. Holiday Gala was held at the Summitt Club.
Awards presented at the Rotary District 6800 Conference in May 1992:
Greatest Percentage Membership Gain Over Previous Year
Rotary International Significant Achievement Award for 
Meritorious Service
Rotary District 6800 Governor Award for Best Overall club in District for 1991-           92
The Rotarian of the year was Rebecca Martin
Dr. Walter Sandusky was named a Paul Harris Fellow.  He also attended Rotary International United Nations Day at the United Nations Building in New York City.  President-Elect Bob Chandler attended the Rotary International Convention in Orlando, FL.  Membership at Rotary year end was 76.
